Student Workbook

The ESL Bible Student Workbook will make it easier to do the student activities suggested in Bible Studies for New English Speakers. The hands-on activities involve students and are usually open-ended, requiring creativity or thinking skills. Some activities are multi-leveled, some are for beginning ESL students, and some are for intermediate/ advanced students. You pick the ones you want to use, depending upon your students’ abilities.

If you have different levels of students in your class, you can assign the different sheets to them in order to individualize your instruction. Sometimes students can work together. Often, discussion is suggested after students complete the work.

Some activity sheets have words to cut out and place on the page or on maps. If you want, these words (flash cards) can be glued on tagboard or construction paper or put into small envelopes to save them until the student has mastered the activity. For example, for beginning ESL students, it takes about four sessions to learn the continents, and they will want to practice finding the continents with the flash cards during each lesson until they know them.
