There is nothing more exciting than teaching ESL students!  A 20-year veteran teacher, I have taught ESL at all levels and I developed the ESL Bible Studies first in 1981 when I saw a need for hands-on methodologies to be applied to Bible teaching for churches with refugees or international ministries.  After teaching the lessons to the Vietnamese family in our Texas church, we moved to Washington state and I finalized the lessons into a written format and began giving workshops, to help others to apply basic ESL techniques to their Bible teaching.

Since we were moving to Ohio, a church produced the teacher-training videotape in order to be able to continue holding the ESL Bible Study workshops.  My goal is to help teachers excite ESL students by using high interest and meaningful techniques and materials applied to Bible topics.  I have had articles published in professional journals and books/booklets to help achieve this goal, presented these topics at teacher conventions, and taught at local universities.

While in Ohio, I have been the ESL Director at Hillel Academy in Dayton, where 18% of the students were ESL, and I taught in the ESL Resource Room, with multi-leveled and multi-aged groups of students.  Presently, I teach in the TESL Department of Cedarville University and regularly present at the Miami Valley Consortium of ESL Teachers meetings.  For eight years, I was the editor of the CETESOL (Christian Educators in TESOL) Newsletter.
